Network-connection with PalmVx

Hi,

I would like to make a network-connection with my PalmVx.

The Palm Side:

The Palm is connected to the Linux Box (Suse 9.2) with a serial cable.

User and Password is defined in the Network-Settings on the palm.

The connection on the palm is defined as direct serial connection.

A fixed IP-Adress is configured on the palm with connectiontype ppp

The configuration on the palm worked without any problems in former times
(using Suse 7.3)

The PC Side:

The /etc/inittab contains a line

pd:35:respawn:/usr/sbin/pppd /dev/ttyS0 115200 crtscts

The Problem:

When I try to make a connect from the Palm there's only a message on the
Palm that says

"PPP-Connection-Timeout (0x1231)"

In /var/log/messages I only found a message that pppd is startet (after
"init q")
