Hi,

I'm using a Linksys "G" wireless networking card for my Dell Inspiron
notebook to connect to a Blitzz wireless router.

It diaplays that a connection has been established and the signal quality is
quite strong. However I can only access the setup site for the wireless
network from my notebook. I can't access any Internet sites.

I'm using Windows XP.

Thanks for your help!

Perhaps...but not before you provide more information.

Has this router ever successfully connected to the outside world?
When your browser fails, what error message(s) do you receive?

Just like the other guy said, your router itself may not even be connected
to the internet. You should browse around the router setup via HTTP and see
if there is a STATUS button you can click, it should tell you if it is
connected. Most likely its not. Your wires may be connected, but an actual
connection being established is what you need to verify. You may try using
a cat-5 cable to the router and see if that makes a difference, start at the
router and make sure its connected-then work your way out away from the
router. You may need to enable DHCP on the router or make sure your
notebook is trying to get a DHCP address, signal strength is a separate
issue.

Do you have the Windows built in firewall enabled?

I find that I can't access anything on the internet with this enabled -
ZoneAlarm is highly recommended though

I'm using the bundled Blitzz USB wireless card on my PC to connect to that
Blitzz router and it's giving me no trouble at all.

Therefore I would say that the router does work. In its configuration menu I
have granted access to all PC's. Although I do have WEP 128-bit enabled but
I have keyed in the security key correctly into the Linksys wireless card
program.

The error message that appears is that IE can't load the page, it's in a
dialog box, not the usual Page not found message we from time to time.

Thanks.

Hi Dan,

Yes the connection to the Internet is present.

DHCP is enabled on the router. On the notebook wireless card setting, it's
trying to obtain an IP automatically =? seeking DCHP address?

I assume that I have to connect my notebook by the Infrastructure method as
opposed to :Ad-hoc"?
