Network card uninstalls

I have installed a Mecer 802.11b Wireless PCI network card
in my machine. The card works fine, but whenever the
machine is switched on in the morning, it detects that the
card is not installed and attempts to re-install it.
If the machine is switched off and the restarted, it works
fine. I found a patch on the tech-net site, but it only
applies to portable cardbus cards.
Can anyone assist with this problem?

This often happens if you install the card and software incorrectly. For
most wireless cards and USB devices you need to install the drivers before
you install the card.
