I have installed in my pc a network everywhere (from
Linksys) fast ethernet 10/100 network card to use with my
dsl connection connected to a msn broadband modem. I can
use the modem with my usb connection but not with my
ethernet connection. I want the ethernet connection. The
tech at Linksys says I need to have a TCP/IP-> Network
Everywhere protocol. In the control panel, then in the
network, then in the configuration window, I do not have
the TCP/IP for Network everywhere.

Where can I get this? Do you know?

THanks,
matt

Matt,

Go to the network settings and add a protocol.

Select TCP/IP under Microsoft.

Good luck

Brian,

Thank you. I did go through that process. This did not
result in anything.

What else?

Thanks

Um, that should have worked. Did it act as though it was installing
the protocol? Did it ask for the WINDOWS disk, etc ?

Brian.

Everything might be OK.

If there's only one network adapter, it won't show the TCP/IP binding,
but the binding will be implied. The list of network components will
show:

Linksys Network Card
TCP/IP

If there are two or more network adapters, it will show the TCP/IP
binding for each:

Dial-Up Adapter
Linksys Network Card
TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adapter
TCP/IP -> Linksys Network Card

Go to Start | Run, type "winipcfg" in the box, and click OK. There
will be a menu of available network adapters. If the Linksys card
doesn't appear, click the down arrow and select it. That will be
proof that TCP/IP is bound to the card.
