Network card installation

I've got a newly installed network card (Belkin). When I
started up the computer, it recognized that there was new
hardware and I went through the driver installation
process. It prompted me to restart my computer, which I
did. As it booted up again, it started the installation
process all over again, telling me that it had discovered
new hardware. I tried installing the drivers again, but
this time it told me it was unable to find the drivers on
the CD.

The network card seems to be installed - everything looks
fine in Device Manager and there's a green light on the
NIC. But the cable modem and winipconfig don't recognize
that there's a network card at all.

Help!
