Network Card can't find odiload.vxd

I'm trying to install a Linksys LNE 100TX Fast Ethernet card in a system
running W98 SE and after the install the device manager shows an exclamation
mark for the device and says it "Cannot load odiload.VXD Reinstall Windows
from the CD". I installed these cards in 6 other systems with no problems
except this one. My question is can I extract the odiload.vxd from the
Base6.cab to the windows\system or system32 folder or do I really need to
reinstall Windows.
