hi everyone, thank you for your help in advance.

We are running AD nature mode with 300 XP PCs. We also have GPO to disable
"Computer Broswer Service" on each client... in the past, we could only see
some servers in our domain under "Network Neigbhood" (I know it is an old
name from W95/98 )

Currently, I found out there are more and more PCs but not all browse up in
the network neighbourhood which we do not intend to. I check out those PCs
and they still have "COmputer Browser" disabled.

WHy did this happened? In order not to let those PCs appeared there, what
should I do?

Thank you for your help!

Stopping the computer browser service just prevents the computer from
becoming a browse master. It does not prevent it from showing up in a browse
list.

The simplest way to stop them showing up in a browse list at all is to
disable Netbios over TCP/IP.

Hi - see my reply to your identical post in the other group. In the future,
please don't multipost - if you need to post to multiple groups, it's best
to crosspost instead, by posting a single message to a handful of relevant
groups (separate the NG names with commas) so that everyone can follow the
thread. Multiposting wastes everyone's time, including yours, and may lead
to your actually getting *less* help rather than more.

Hi Bill,

Thank you for your response.

I just tried disable "Netbios over TCP". But that would shut off everything.
Is there anyway I could have the browser display just the server, which my
fellow said that used to be that way.

Thank you again, and sorry for multi posted.
