It is not clear precisely what you wish to do but....

With bridges, or switches acting as bridges, you can not
see any traffic from other segments unless you have a
monitor in each of them (or run the monitor tool on the
switch or by using a "datatap port" that some of them
offer) -- ok, no traffic except broadcasts since they
will be sent/duplicated to each segment.
The same pretty much applies to routes (or switch routers)
except you won't even see the remote broadcasts now.
If you just want a better (more capable) monitor there
are many on the network like Ethereal and WinDump.
