Network Bridge either does not issue STP BPDUs

.... or this is not captured by network monitor.

I have set up two computers with 2 NIC each so that all of them should be
bridged. Simultaneously I monitored the traffic with Netork Monitor. But no
STP (spanning tree protocol) BPDUs where captured. What is wrong? I suppose,
the bridges should use the STP feature.

Are there any configurable parameters about the STP? How can one make the
bridges issue/reissue such packets?
