Hi, i'm a newbie to linux and i'm having a bit of bother getting fedora
core 4 to recognise my integrated intel nic and audio. I recently
downloaded and built the driver for the nic and used modprobe to add it
as a module but still no luck. The driver is located in the correct
directory as indicated by the release notes but i cannot see it in
/dev. I added the alias e100 eth0 to the file modprobe.conf (it's
modprobe.conf in the release notes but named slightly different under
fedora). Is there something i'm missing or something i haven't done? Am
i nieve to think that it should just being a matter of building the
driver and installing it as a module? When i try to set up my network
it returns the error 'device eth0 does not seem to be present, delaying
initialisation'.
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
