Not sure where this post belongs,

My problem is i just reformatted and installed ME again like i have several
times before no different then anytime before that i recall.

When i first got the OS up and my drivers in, i went to windows update,
started downloading the service pack, it d/l's then when installing at about
83% it stops and says i dont have administrative access to install the
following update!

I managed to uncheck the service pack and get the security fixes, but some
things will install and some wont abnd it always says i dont have
access,Then looking around i went in control panel add remove programs, and
nothing is listed, big white empty box, never myself have i seen this and
thought its rather odd.

Ive spent the past week looking thru the knowledge base but either my
problem is not documented or i suck at finding it<----the latter is most
likely the answer LOL

Anyone have any suggestions?

Service Pack? I didn't think ME had any service packs, just lots of
"critical updates." Are you sure you weren't downloading an XP serice
pack. Are you running ME or XP?
