I had to install a new computer on my home network, but
cannot get past the WEP key during installation of
software. I have reinstalled the base station and got a
new WEP key, but it will not work either. The green light
on the unit is blinking - does not stay on. Base station
is connected to internet and works fine. Any help would
be greatly appreciated!

If you are talking about during the installation of version 2.0 of the
BNU provided with the Microsoft hardware that is a know issue. The work
around is to cancel the install & configure it manually.

If the computer is running Windows XP I'd recommend uninstalling the BNU
as it is not needed & the BNU does not support WPA while Windows XP SP2
does support WPA.

without installing the Networking software? I am running
XP SP2....I must have missed something though since the
green light just blinks and won't go solid. I hate to
sound dense, but I don't know a lot about this stuff!

Thanks for your help - again!

Uninstall the BNU first (I'm assuming it is still installed on your
computer).

Then go into network connections.

From there you can configure your wireless network connection.

I don't have any wireless network cards so I can't remember what it
looks like.
