Hello:

Where do I look first? Have a 2003 Web Server /SP1 - When a lot of traffic
goes into the External NIC card, it shuts down.. cannot get any traffic thru
it. The fix is to Disable and ReEnable it - then it works fine. Does not
seem to have a problem during normal access, just when FTPing a bunch of
traffic thru it.. 10, 40, 100+ MB Video Files.

I have updated the driver to the latest ver per the manuf website.

Anything in Windows that might affect this adapter? Buffer overflow?
Traffic overload? or just get another adapter and replace it?

Thanks, Bill

We just had a case last weekend. Updated to the latest driver doesn't fix the problem. What we fix it is installing the 2004 version. I have the case posted here,

Solved: RAS server is unstable because of the NIC

Hello Robert:

I will search for a older version of the LAN driver and try that. One thing
I did notice that if you leave the LAN adapter alone for couple hours, it
will re-enable itself again.. Weird..

That is why I was wondering if there is something in Web Server 2003 that
has some NIC buffer problem or maybe something that shuts down the adapter
when it thinks it is under "attack" or something weird like that....

Thanks again, I will see what I can find for that adapter.
