About two months ago, after I installed an automatic
system update on my Win3K Terminal server, I had this
strange browser interaction on my Windows 2003 Terminal
server. The subject was Microsoft Authenticity Checker, I
tried to close the browser but could not. I was forced to
manually shut the system down. Since this incident, I have
noticed that this particular server has been having hard
drive & network adapter problems. My RAID5 hard drives
keep going down and I have to manually rebuild them each
time to keep the server operational, my Intel Pro 1000MT
dual Gigabit adapters keep disconnecting from the network,
as it stands now the adapters are completely disabled.
However, when I check the device manager the adapters are
working fine.
My question is - Has anybody experienced this before? Is
Microsoft using the Automatic update as a conduit to
systematically disable properly licensed operating
systems? I have updated drivers and changed cables. I have
contacted the manufacturer (SuperMicro) and I am waiting
for their response.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
