how to network 2 pc's and share internet

I have 2 pc's each PIII's running WinME we are using a
router with sbc dsl service... am wanting to get rid of
the router and connect the other pc with mine and share
the connection from my pc,but sbc uses pppoe.any
suggestions on the easiest and cheapest way to do this? I
was told because of the pppoe that it can not be done

Why do you want to get rid of the router? The setup you have now is what I
recommend to anyone wanting to share their Internet connection. Sure, you
could remove the router and re-configure everything but you wouldn't gain
anything in return.

More to the point, ME has no PPPoE capability. You would need 3rd party
software like RASpppoe or an upgrade to XP. Keep the router. <g>
