Hello,

Hopefully someone will help. For the life of me I cannot generate a
sendmail.cf file from the sendmail.mc file. I really need to do this
as I need to allow some limited smtp relaying through the server.
Apparently m4 is not installed (not recognized as a command) on the
Netwinder and will not install either.

I downloaded these two files from the ftp site:

m4-1.4.1-13.arm41.rpm
m4-1.4.1-13.scr.rpm

The *src installs without incident.

However when I attempt to install the *arm41.rpm file I get this:

libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by m4-1.4.1-13
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1) is needed by m4-1.4.1-13
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2) is needed by m4-1.4.1-13
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.3) is needed by m4-1.4.1-13
rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1 is neededby m4-1.4.1-13
rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1 is needed by m4-1.4.1-13

Does anyone have an idea on either how to generate a sendmail.cf file
from the sendmail.mc without using m4 or on how to install m4
correctly?

Thanks

In comp.os.linux.networking Duane <(E-Mail Removed)>:

Simply install the m4*.rpm package from your distro, this should
work. Not some rpm you found somewhere, which wasn't made for
your distro, whatever you run.

Good luck

Thanks - I figured it out. I picked a binary that is built against a
later version of glibc, one with symbol versioning enabled. This won't
work on the older netwinder images (eg. officeserver).

I thought the version I initially tried to install was the only m4
distro for the arm Netwinder, but of course another existed.

Thanks
