Netgear WPN824v2 Router: Wireless Indicator Light

Just bought the Netgear WPN824v2 router. On this router, the wireless
indicator light (antenna) on the front of the unit flashes at a
constant, steady pace (not an intermittent flicker). On my old MR814
router, this indicator light would only flash when there was wireless
traffic to or from the router; the light on the new router flashes
constantly, even when there is no wireless traffic.

I have contacted Netgear to ask about this, and they advise that this
constant flashing is normal. I do not believe them.

Does anyone else have this router; if so, does your wireless indicator
light flash constantly, or only when there is traffic?
