Netgear wireless not working

I have two win Me machines. The second one does not keep solid light on.

'solid light' - on what? where? (the ceiling?)

What's the signal strength like? How far away from the access
point/router is the Win Me box that is having problems? Are there other
wireless networks in the area? Have you tried changing the channel being
used?
