Hello !

My mate is trying to set up and wireless LAN and it's not working !

The equipment is:

1x Netgear WRG614 Router
1x Toshiba SP-507 Laptop with built in Wi-fi network card.

The router is functioning correctly in a wired state to another PC and also
to the laptop. Attempting to get the laptop to connect to the wireless LAN
meets with failure.

I know the router and the laptop are talking to each other as if I make a
change to the SSID on the router, it reflects in the wireless networking
properties on the laptop and says the network is available for connection.
Pressing the connect button results in nothing and the icon in the system
tray for the connection comes back about 5 seconds later and states that
wireless networks are available.

No security or WEP has been activated.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Jamie

I ran into a similar case and you might try what I did.

In the "Wireless Settings", click the "Setup Access List button" and
un-check the "Turn Access Control On."
