I brought a Netgear WGR614 v5 router and I'm trying to set that up.
When I run the setup wizard from http://192.168.1.1 I get a message -
Static (Fixed) IP detected. And then I'm asked to end the IP Address,
Subnet Mask, DNS address etc. I called up my ISP and they say that they
only provide dynamic addresses. Am I doing something wrong? Please
help!!

What OS are you using? Makes a difference in how one explains the fix.

In general, you have to go to your TCP/IP configuration, and remove any
supplied IP's. Then, enable DHCP and WINS in the TCP/IP config. There
are some that will argue with this as insecure, but it is the fastest
way to get the WGR614 working (I have one, and have done this). Then,
after you get things working and kind of get your feet wet with your
network, you can fine tune the security. WEP, though not the best, is
the easiest to set up initially. Just be sure to use 128-bit
encryption, and use a very random, max length key phrase.

for some reason the routers wizard is not detecting your DHCP assigned
address properly - no problem...just bypass the wizard - I think its
something like http://192.168.1.1/basicsetting.htm and tehn set DHCP, click
aplly, and then you wont see the wiard again - check the manual supplied on
CDrom or Netgear website for exact details
