Netgear WGR614 - No WAP

I had a working WGR614 configuration in my old apartment. I
have moved to a new location and expected it to continue to
work just as it did before.

Unfortunately, it hasn't. I've reset the router to default
settings, tried different devices, changed locations, had a
wireless laptop about two feet away from it, all without
any results at all.

I see a very strong signal from some other network 'home' on
channel 10 and a faint signal on aother network on channel 6.
But my network remains mysteriously silent.

I'm used to running an open network, no WEP, no keys, but the
Netgear allows MAC limitations which I use. These other two
networks are closed.

Is there some interaction that can occur? I'm about ready to
return this router as defective. But before I do, perhaps
someone can offer some ideas.
