A mate of mine has bought a Centrino based laptop.

He brought it around my house and it just wouldn't detect my network. My
network works fine with Netgear's WGE101 11g bridge and Netgear's WG511 11g
pc card in my laptop.

Now both of these devices were off so the AP was just sitting there wating
for something to connect. It'll accept both 11b+g devices. The trouble is
the laptop with built in Intel's 2100 3B wireless card would not even detect
my network. I even disabled WEP. I entered the MAC address of the laptop
into my AP so it would accept it. But nothing.

I'm atleast expecting the laptop to detect the wireless network is there,
even if I still had WEP enabled and the AP wouldn't accept the MAC address.

Anybody any ideas? Anybody got this combination working?

Thanks in advance.

James

You might check with Netgear to see if they have a BIOS upgrade for the
bridge. I use a MR814 v2 and also had problems with centrino (but not other
systems) until I upgraded the BIOS. Everything works great now.
