Netgear WG511v2 with limited no of channels

Dear Newsgroup,

I own a wireless adapter card Netgear WG511v2, which I use with my laptop
(Windows XP). It is configured for France.

Why will this card only connect to channels 10,11,12,13?

Is this supposed to be the case?

Yes, this is the case. While technically in the ETSI domain, wi-fi in
France is limited to the 4 channels you've mentioned.
