Is there such a thing because i cant find any anywhere and the range on this
thing running against a netgear wgt634u is absolute shit

Unless you have a defective card, the WG511T card is one of the best
wireless notebook cards there are. The range is phenomenal and it is
vendor friendly. I can't speak in regards to the WGT634U. Anyway, in
reference to firmware updates, check out the below listed website.
