I have this *exact* same problem. Email to netgear went nowhere.
I have called Netgear support twice. They basically ran me through
the stuff that I had already tried.
Put the key in again.
Type the key in manually, no passphrase.
Reset the access point.
Reload the access point firmware.
Etc.
Check the MAC displayed for the AP on the WG511 config screen
when you enable WEP on the WG511.
On mine, the 1st 3 bytes are the same, next 3 change.
What's up with that?
Reloading old WG511 firmware from the CD makes the problem
go away. Reloaded new firmware from the web site.
Problem comes back. I don't think the support guy heard me.
On the laptop with the WG511 I have win2k sp1. I have been
thinking about sp4. I was too scared.
Please post if you get more info.
Hello, Netgear? Are you listening?
