Hi,

I have a Netgear WG511 54Mbps PCMCIA card and a WG602 access point.
Everything works fine, except the MAC address of the card keeps
changing after each reboot! It just changes to a random number. I am
using the latest firmware for both the access point and the WG511 card
- but still the same problem. All other features (such as WEP) work
fine. The card itself works fine. One thing I have noticed is that
there is no green LED on the card, just a rapidly flashing amber LED
(which I think is for data). Called Netgear UK, who sent me a new
card, but still get exactly the same problem. I have tried it in both
a Win98 laptop and a WinXP Pro laptop - but still same problem.

Any ideas??

Thanks!

you mean the BSSID changes. my cards do this too- sometimes once per
second. and the bssid never matches the MAC adress on the label of
the device. maybe BSSID and MAC are not the same thing.

Well, when I do an ipconfig /all after a reboot, the mac address of
the card is different - it has never matched the mac address written
on the card. Not sure if this is related to the BSSID??
