I ran into the same problem many of you have regarding setting up WEP
with this card. To allow this card to work properly with Windows XP,
you must go to your Network Connections and right mouse click on the
Wireless Network Connection and go to properties. Then click on the
Wireless Networks tab and just below the tab is a check box saying,
"Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings." Uncheck this
box and then go back to the Netgear Card Utility program. You will now
see more tabs available including Security. Set up both your WG511
card and router with the same encryption and keys. Using a Netgear
WG511 card with Netgear WGR614 router and am using 128bit. Though not
totally secure, do not think any of my neighbors will be into my
system.
