Just tried installing a Netgear WG311 v2 wireless Ethernet card on a new XP
Home PC.

I followed the instructions, installing the software first, followed by the
card.

The PC then kept rebooting itself continually until I removed the card.

The PC has an Ethernet card built into the motherboard. Could this be the
problem?

If I leave out the wireless card and plug a wireless access point into the
existing Ethernet card, will that connect to my existing wireless router?

Cheers

Pete

Not sure about the built in card Pete, but for what it's worth, I also
installed a Netgear WG311 v2 card recently on an XP machine, and it worked
fine (it also had a built in Ethernet Card).
Have you downloaded the latest drivers from Netgear ?

This may help ????

Ta,

Mark

Having multiple ethernet adaptors in the same PC should not cause a
problem, but in case it's causing some sort of Conflict, have you tried
disabling the onboard ethernet adaptor in the BIOS? Also in the BIOS,
check that IRQs are not manually assigned to the PCI slots, or if they
are, that they're correct - this may cause a problem if the card
requires a different IRQ.

Also, Have you tried a different PCI Slot for the wireless card?
