Try lowering the RTS Threshold to 2304
Increase the Beacon Interval to 200
And make sure that Frame Brust is enabled.
All of these setting should be in the router advanced wireless settings.
If this does not work, get a Linksys WRT54G router, preferably version 2.
I went through 2 routers ( dlink and some other) had the same problem untill
i tried linksys.
Also Linksys has great support with 3rd party firmware from
www.linksysinfo.org (free)
or
www.sveasoft.com ( 20$ for 1 year subscription - highly recommanded as
they have phone, instant email, and IRC channel support)
