NetGear Router WGT624V2 problem

I have a NetGear Router WGT624V2 . When I start it up I get 54Mipps.
After about 5 minutes it reduces to about 2 Mipps. I have to disable
my wireless car a re establish a connection to get the speed back. Is
it the router or the wireless card?

My guess is interference and/or poor signal. See
