>Well. we have both gone down the same path. 2 desktops
with 98 se and a laptop with win xp. A wireless router
attached to internet and patch wired to one (the wire that
came with the router goes with the one accessing the
internet) and an ethernet cable from the other computer to
the router.
Then a wireless usb thing for the laptop with XP.
You have probably talked to the Netgear people in India
and lost out.
I did not get success until I added protocol Net Bieu and
did the Binding to the 2 Win 98 comps. Then all was
revealed. However XP does not support Net Bieu.
Finally I have the 2 Win 98 able to get to the internet
and see eachothers files including the wireless laptop, (
I had lapses in success and came to the conclusion one
computer was getting too hot and behaving erratically).
Now I have to solve how to make the laptop see the first
computer. It sees it but when asked to see the files, it
says "Cannot find the path files"
Hence I am here.
www.wown.com has much info.
I think the answer to your question is that TCP/IP should
work, but Net Bieu is a simpler protocol and sometimes
works when all else fails. Make sure they are all "Bound"
Good Luck!
