hi all, im running winxp sp2 and have a weird problem concerning a wireless
network card.
basically, what happens is that when i look at network connections, the
wireless card connects, then disconnects, connects, disconnects and so on.
everything is congigured properly as far as i can see. i didnt have this
prob with SP1, and all the drivers are up to date.
it seems to happen every 5 /10 secs.
any ideas....

cheers

Not sure but I think the latest beta drivers might cure this, it's a known issue with netgear and
sp2, check on their site. They definitely did work with my netgear usb wireless.

Yes, they're in "Windows Update" too.
You need to choose "Custom Install", not "Express Install" in the new
format, then "Select Optional Hardware Updates" from the left margin (if
there's a number in brackets, as there should be in this case) then
"Add" each patch manually before going to "Review and Install".

I wish they'd make them all automatic, not just the "criticals", because
there have been many thousands of times more problems from users missing
updates than from users installing incorrect ones, which is only
possible with Ms errors anyway.
So, while your at it, get ALL the optionals you're offered and do it
monthly, regardless of the automatic system getting your "criticals".
If they do cause problems, it's not your fault!
