Unfortunately, not all wireless adapters are created equal. I had the
exact same problem with two Linksys products. They were both the same
distance from the access point, yet one had an excellent signal while the
other was marginal. Drivers, tweaks, tech support....nothing helped. So
I just bought another adapter that simply worked, and it was cheap.
It sounds like you could be suffering the same thing as I did. My guess
is that whatever problems Dell had with the 1150 were fixed in the 1180.
Is it possible to replace the 1150? --Jago
