Netgear ME101 Bridge Problem

Folks,

I've just picked up a ME101 802.11b Ethernet Bridge. It took quite a while
to get it to talk to my AP ... stupid thing doesn't like MAC filtering, but
finally it will ping my router and AP (a Netgear WG602).

Unfortuanately, that as far as it goes. I can ping any device in my
network, but it WILL NOT talk to the internet. There doesn't seem to be
anyway of specifying Gateway/DNS settings in the setup .... specifying the
settings on the ethernet card brings no joy. Upgrading to the V2.0 of the
software and firmware does no good. I'm at a bit of a loss .....

Any recommendations?

Michael

I am using WGE101 which is the 801.11g version of the Ethernet Bridge.

At least on this version, there is a page for the IP settings where you can
specify the IP address of the unit, subnet mask & default gateway. I don't
use the DHCP option.

Since you can ping other devices I assume you have set the subnet mask
correctly.
You should set the default gateway to the same IP address as your AP, if you
can find it.

Hope it helps

Can you get to the Internet if you just plug what's plugged into the
ME101 directly into the wired network where the AP is instead? That
would test if the issue is with the wireless bit or not.

The ME101 is supposed to be transparent, but I'm finding I can get to
anything on the wired LAN from the device on the ME101, but nothing on
the wired LAN can see the device on the ME101 :-( All works without
the ME101 in the way...
