Netgear MA521 wireless card

I have a netgear MA521 wireless card installed in my IBM t30 laptop.
My OS is windows 2000. It works fine. But when my laptop is in standby
mode and when I revert to normal mode, the wireless connection is not
restored.

The system recognises the network to which i am connected and packets
are sent. But no packets are received. Disabling and re-enabling the
network connection or reconnecting to the network does not solve the
problem.

The only way to restore the connection is to reboot the system.

Has anybody faced this issue? Netgear support has not been of much
help.
