Hi, I have an MA101 USB wireless card.
The problem I'm having is that under Windows 2000, I lose the internet
connection periodically. What happens is I'll be using it normally, and the
internet connection is lost and cannot be regained. I can only reconnect to
the internet by rebooting. There doesn't seem to be a set time that elapses
before the connection, it can be anywhere from two minutes to two hours
before I lose it.
When I try to ipconfig /release or ipconfig /renew, it locks up and gives no
response. Attempting to disable the network connection also locks up the
window.
After the connection is lost, I can't connect to 192.168.1.1.
All through this, the link and signal strength are both reported as 100%
(and fluctuate-- but this shows that the card did not lose the actual
connection to the router).
My router is a Linksys BEFW11S4.
I've tried reinstalling the drivers for the MA101 to no avail, I've tried
both 1.01 and the latest versions of Netgear's drivers.
The connection worked fine while running XP on the same computer with the
same hardware.
Any ideas on what I should do to fix this? Thanks!
