NetGear HE102 Access Point

I have a new HE102 which I have installed on my LAN and which works very
well. The problem is that I am unable to access its setup program to change
any parameters from their default values.

Unlike my SMC WAP which uses a local control program in one of the computers
on the LAN to do its setup, the NetGear unit has its setup program evidently
in its firmware. You are supposed to access it by entering the unit "name"
(netgear1F0BEE) in the browser address or location space or by entering its
default IP address of 192.168.0.225.

Neither of these methods brings up the setup program. In fact, the addresses
are rejected as being unknown. I have sent an email to Netgear tech support
for their help, but perhaps someone here has had this problem with Netgear
or other equipment and has some ideas.

Any and all suggestions appreciated! Thanks!

George

Maybe your router is interferring? Try plugging the HE102 directly into
your PC's Ethernet port. I have two HE102's on order and will be trying the
setup myself soon.
