Everybody's entitled to their opinion, but I'm surprised to see US
Robotics so near the bottom of anybody's list. My Courier "V-Everything"
dial-up modem has worked flawlessly for many years, it's been
flash-upgraded several times and has been easy to set up in DOS, in every
version of Windows I've used, and in Linux. Therefore when I had to find
an all-in-one wireless ADSL box to set up for someone else, and I wanted
something cheaper than the Draytek (which would have been my ideal
choice) I had no hesitation in choosing a US Robotics one (the 9106), and
it too has been easy to set up and has been working well for several
weeks now.
And why Belkin? My own setup has a separate wireless unit because it was
added later, but I bought a Belkin one because it was available and it
was cheap, and although it looks a bit odd it works just fine.
Netgear as "best" is the real surprise. I have no direct experience of
their ADSL products, but just reading the relevant newsgroups and
counting the number of times the various brands are mentioned in
connection with problems would steer me away from this one.
