I am unable to access Google.com via an installed Netgear DG834N wireless
router. I have found no problem with any other sites and it works fine via
my BT HomeHub. I am a novice when it comes to wireless settings; any help
would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance.

See if this works:
* Reset the Netgear to factory defaults.
* Configure it for your Internet service.
* Do _not_ turn on any security.
* Connect to it with a cable.
Then work on the wireless and security.
