Ive got a Netgear DG834Gv3 wireless modem. I've lost the resources CD
that came with it. I've downloaded the manual from the netgear site
but can't obtain the smart wizard setup software.

Now I setup the modem manually but am giving the modem to my brother
who is not computer literate hence the need for the auto setup
software.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to obtain this software
please. I've tried netgear and found them most unhelpfull.

Isn't the "Setup Wizard" the very first item on the built-in configuration
web server, coming above the "Setup" group on the left side?

There is no separate "Setup Wizard " software, it is built into the router.
From IE type in the address bar 192.168.0.1 which takes you to the Netgear
routers Home page.
You need the User Name and Password ( factory default " admin " and "
password " ) and the link for the Setup Wizard is Top Left.on the side menu.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't realised the setup on the router was the
same as on the CD. So why send out the CD??

I can't remember what came on the CD. I never used mine. I just visited
http://192.168.0.1 and got stuck in.

I suspect there'll be a manual, and maybe some of that optional Trend
Micro security software?

A CD with .pdf's is cheaper to make and ship than printed documentation.

Its not, there IS no setup software on the CD...

>So why send out the CD??

.... it has a copy of the manual, and a HTML link to the setup software
on the router... :-)
