I've not used DMT, as there's no Linux version and I run the DGTeam
firmware on my ex-Sky DG834GT which lets me tweak the SNR (and saves
the adjustment figure so it's preserved over a power cycle).
However I guess DMT just telnets in to the box and runs adslctl - so
you could do that manually:

I'm currently running with the DGTeam's slider at 47%, which is
about as low as I can go and still have the ADSL stable and reliable.
