The default firewall rules are to allow any LAN to WAN communication,
and deny any WAN to LAN communication that wasn't inititiated on your
LAN - the latter is a characteristic of NAT, but you can work around it
with port forwarding. If only one PC is connected to the router then
forwarding all ports has the same effect as disabling NAT, otherwise you
have to specify which ports are forwarded to which machine.
