Hi

Am about to buy a Netgear DG834G.

But some stores list it as DG834GUK and some as DG834G V2
Are they the same model with different firmware (which can be
upgraded) or
is the V2 a newer model and some stores (ie Amazon) are selling off
old stock ?

Thanks

Rob

You can't tell from that, there is a UK model of either having a power
adapter with a UK style three pin plug and a filter with BT style plug and
socket.

The v2 model is slightly smaller, in white with stands and no screw head
wall mount and runs on 12V, the older one is larger in grey, has a wall
mount on the case and runs on 15V. They both seem to run just the same
with the same config files and same firmware.

See them both at http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/DG834G.asp

Under the UK distance selling regulations you can return mail order
purchases for full refund (including s&h) if done promptly (seven days)
and if you pay the return postage, so just buy one and see whet you get.

Tony

FYI, the UK merely implies "it's a router where the wall-wart power supply
has UK pins" (as opposed to a German plug, say).

The v2 version has been out for a while now (well over 6 months) - any large
retailer (i.e. Amazon/ebuyer/PC World etc) will ship you a v2 model, even if
they don't advertise it as a v2 on their web site.

Regards
Sunil

Thanks everyone
Ordered one from Amazon - best price and a free USB wireless interface
as well ( till 31st July).
If its as easy to use as my DG834 - wired one I'll be well pleased.
