I've just purchased one of these and am trying to forward port 6346 TCP/UDP.

I only have one PC connected to the router and if I run IPCONFIG the IP is
192.168.0.2

For anyone who knows how to use this particular router in the Firewall Rules
section under Inbound Services do I put the above IP address (192.168.0.2)
in the "Send to LAN Server" section.......

The reason I ask is port 6346 is for the program Shareaza and a web based
test is saying that port 6346 is still firewalled - Even though it ahould be
open to inbound connections.

Thanks anyone and sorry if this should be in a different newsgroup, but I
couldn't find one relevant

You could also check via the Attached Devices page

Did you also set WAN users to Any ?

Suggest you set to Log the application of the rule and check that.

i have a dg834pn which is probably the same setup.

1) define a custom service (security - > services) called shareaza. type:
tcp/udp ports 6346 to 6346.
2) define a firewall rule. service = shareaza; action: allow always; send to
lan server 192.168.0.2. wan users any; log: if u want

step 1 defines a service relating to TCP/UDP port 6346.
step 2 forwards tcp/udp port 6346 traffic to 192.168.0.2 - your pc will be
listening for this traffic if shareaza is running

Fine. But why not set that in the adapter's properties as a fixed address
and avoid the computer getting a different one by DHCP.

It's a 2 step process.

Step 1, go to Services and Add Custom Service, under Name say Shareaza or
whatever, under type set to TCP or UDP or both (both is best if you're not
sure) and for start port and end port enter 6346 in each. Then Apply.

Step 2, under Firewall Rules Inbound Services: click Add. As Service:
select the name you set in Step 1, Action: Always Allow (or you could
Allow by Schedule if you want to restrict the times), Send to LAN Server:
enter 192.168.0.2, and WAN Users: Any. Log - whatever you want. Then
Apply.

Now see whether the program's web test is happier.

P.S. although you got help here eventually, you'll probably get a faster
informed response to this type of question in uk.comp.home-networking
