Looks like Netgear have decided to imagine that the firmware release for
the DG384(g) version 1.04.00 never existed.

As from April 7th only version 1.03.x and 1.04.01 are now on the web site.

Any one know the reason for the 2nd release so soon after the initial
release?
The release notes for 1.04.01 make no mention of 1.04.00.

My guess is some kind of security flaw.

Andrew

V1.04.01 is downloadable from
http://kbserver.netgear.com/support_...asp?dnldID=675

The older V1.04.00 is still downloadable if you go direct to the url I
posted a few days ago and appears to still be on Netgear's ftp server -
though obviously as Netgear have replaced it, I suggest you get the new
version

Regards
Sunil
(btw added uk.comp.home-networking)

The new features (6) and modifications and bug fixes (6) are exactly
the same as for version 1.04.00 according to the Netgear website.

According to this forum,
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/netgear
1.04.00 has a bug preventing restore of saved configuration files.
Whether that is fixed in 1.04.01 I don't know.

Another week, another firmware release....
nobody except Netgear and Microsoft have that many bugs.
Microsoft has tens of millions lines of code. What is Netgear's excuse ?

Martin

Upgrade to 1.03 - no problems for me. First attempt to 1.04 trashed
router. Netgear sent replacement within four days. Have now upgraded
that (having taken extra precaution of disconnecting router from ADSL
line) to 1.04.01 with nor trouble at all.
