Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone had any idea where to look with a problem i've got with
the above. After saying to everyone that Netgear kit is bombproof my setup
appears to have had a brain fart.

My daughter mentioned when i got in tonight that the wireless was down and i
suspect her card as her laptop gets a beating but it appears fine. My PDA
sees the AP (well the SSID) but like her laptop refuses to connect. If i try
to login to the Netgear AP webpage from the hardwired PC (AP is 192.168.0.2
in this case) it asks for the user/pass then displays a blank page.

If i logon to the 834 it shows the AP as an attached device. Curiously if if
click on "router status" and "connection status" i get a grey background
frame open but not the status window i'd normally get...bizarre.

Only recent changes have been to run ZoneAlarm which i've now turned off and
the problem persists.

Router, AP and PCs have all been rebooted at least once, and other ports on
the router tried.

RF o/p seems ok, router is seeing AP ok, What am i missing? Is it the AP or
switch that has gone US?

Any thoughts much appreciated...

Cheers,

Jon.

Sorry to hear about your problem, Jon.

I wonder why 192.168.0.2, the default is 192.168.0.1 and it's unusual to
change that.

Anyway, I'd try a reset (push paper unfolded clip into small hole between
LAN port 4 and the phone line socket for around 5 seconds). If that
doesn't work then you might try to reload the firmware using the recovery
utility. And if that fails then probably time to send it home to mummy
for repair (exchange actually). To do that, call 01344 397021 for an RMA.

Tony

Almost the same trouble here with DLINK router and a Belkin PCI card in a
PC. The laptop works fine but the usual PC sees the SSID, tries to connect
but will not work.
It can't seem to get an IP number. The laptop always works, but I suspect
the Belkin software causing problems.
