Netgear DG824M - problems loading firmware upgrade v1.4

Hi,

Have just downloaded the version 1.4 firmware from the Netgear support site
and tried to upgrade from firmware v1.2 r0. I have followed the
instructions exactly as given on the support pages, and the upload seems to
go OK. However, after the gateway re-boots and I check the firmware version
on the Gateway Status page, it still shows Version 1.2 Release 00. I'm
uploading the firmware over a direct ethernet connection, have deleted all
cookies and temporary Internet files from my laptop and disabled the
firewall I have running. Nothing helps. Does anybody have any idea why
this may be happening as I haven't managed to get any useful advice from
Netgear support.

Hi Dan,

I had the same problem that you are describing.

What I did was to load Version 1.3 Release 03 then the router would accept
the
Version 1.4 Release 01 firmware.

It works!! Thanks. I'll tell Netgear Support so hopefully they'll be more
helpfull in future.
