On the DSL side of the router, exactly what is the maximum speed it
can go?

I'm thinking of upgrading my connection and would like to know how far
I can push the thing.

I'm not sure about this particular model, but my Speedtouch 530 is rated up
to 9 MB and I'm sure most routers have simialr capacity..

8Mbps I would have thought, as the 814 supports only G.lite and G.dmt,
right?

Upstream would be limited to 1Mbps if the above holds true.

It goes to at least 1Mb/s downstream.
