Seems like a long time for Netgear to fix the bad date on emailed logs
issue! Anyone in the know have any info when this may be fixed?

Showing Jan 1970 from 1st Dec 2006
Cheers

some Netgear boxes use NTP - my WGR614 gets an NTP server address from NTL
via DHCP.

so it may be your ISP has broken their NTP server.

some models did use the NTP server at some American Uni (dont remember which
Netgear model)- that was fixed with a patch a few years back - but if you
are not up to date that is going to break if they scrub the service.

Not sure if this applies?
The date seems ok until it is sent and therefor maybe not an NTP issue,
It looks fine the router log, but when sent it goes into timewarp, it
was showing DEC 2006 for November and from 1st November it has went to
1970, I will try adding a an NTP address and thanks for the tip, if
that fails I will wear some flared trousers and wait 6 years for Punk
to be born again

You mean the bug where the date in the Date: header of emailed logs is
wrong? I've noticed this for a while, but until now the date has just
been a month in the past. Up till now, at least they've all sorted in
the right relative order (and I have them filtered out into a separate
folder in my mail client).

But checking now, I see last night's has this:

Date: Sat,2 (null) 2006 01:00:02 -0000

I imagine what's going on is that it has an array of month names indexed
from 0-11, but it's using 1-based month numbers.

Regards,

Peter
