Hello all,

Having problems on my W2K3/E2K3 server. Particularly the
System Attendant fails to start. Netdiag gave me the
following errors:

Global results:
[WARNING] You don't have a single interface with the
<00> 'WorkStation Service', <03> 'Messenger Service',
<20> 'WINS' names defined.

Redir and Browser test . . . . . . : Failed
[FATAL] Cannot send mailslot message
to '\\IPSEC*\MAILSLOT\NET\NETLOGON' via redir.
[ERROR_BAD_NETPATH]

DC list test . . . . . . . . . . . : Failed
Failed to enumerate DCs by using the browser.
[ERROR_NO_BROWSER_SERVERS_FOUND]

Any help will be appreciated... thanks in advance...

Hi

From top to bottom:
Global results:
[WARNING] You don't have a single interface with the
<00> 'WorkStation Service', <03> 'Messenger Service',
<20> 'WINS' names defined.
A: You can ingore this if you are not using WINS, this just means the
records were not registered on a WINS server.

Redir and Browser test . . . . . . : Failed
[FATAL] Cannot send mailslot message
to '\\IPSEC*\MAILSLOT\NET\NETLOGON' via redir.
[ERROR_BAD_NETPATH]

Does the DC or this system have IPSEC policy enabled on it? I've never
seen this before " \\IPSEC*\MAILSLOT\NET\NETLOGON' " but this make me
beleive that there is possible a conflicting IPSEC policy.

DC list test . . . . . . . . . . . : Failed
Failed to enumerate DCs by using the browser.
[ERROR_NO_BROWSER_SERVERS_FOUND]

This means Browsing is not working on your network, should not have
anything to do with Exchange.
All of this could be occuring from IPSEC mis configuration.

I would first check to see what your IPSEC policy is doing. As a test you
could disable the IPSEC POLICY AGENT Service, then try starting exchange,
if this works you know that an IPSEC policy.

Hope this Helps!

Yes IPSec is being used. And that is when the problem
started. I am testing certain policies and
configurations. Thanks... I will pursue on the IPSec end
as opposed to Exchange.
